KEY SUBSYSTEMS OF B&A’S SOLAR SIMULATOR
SYSTEMS
The Optical System
The system’s optics employ a proven, high performance optic train that employs a very high efficiency elliptical reflector, dielectric primary and secondary mirrors, a multi-element optical integrator (optical scrambler, fly’s eye) system, spectrum trimming filters and fused quartz collimating optics. The optical integrator system produces a very uniform beam.
The Lamp:
Solar Simulator Systems employ Xenon lamps to produce the radiation spectrum needed. The radiation is adjusted by a spectrum trimming filter system to very closely produce the solar spectrum. A series of filters are used to get the AM0 – AM2 spectrum output.
The Lamp Housing:
Solar Simulator Lamp Housings have temperature controlled environment that employs an exhaust module having airflow control. The exhaust module maintains the housing at a safe temperature while insuring source. Both safety and thermal interlocks are integrated within the housing.
The Shutter Controller:
The Shutter controller provides an operating range of 0.1 second to 999.9 seconds in increments of 0.1 second. It also provides a “Test” function and an optional remote capability.
The Power Supply System:
Bachur & Associates offers two types of highly stable power supply systems; a highly regulated, power-adjustable version and an Intensity-controlling version that offers a wide range of operation with real-time optical feedback to precisely maintain beam intensity.
